On Saturday October 20th 2018 around 20 runners from Caen arrived to take part in the 29th Great South Run which took place on Sunday October 21st.
We had a pasta party evening on the Saturday for them in Portsmouth Guildhall in the Lord Mayor's Banqueting Suite.
On the day of the race, we were ably supported by Portsmouth Ambassadors.
The Jolly Sailor hosted them after their run and before they caught their return ferry. They had a good time dancing away to the music provided by the band. A short video of which can be seen here.
This time the French runners beat the Portsmouth team...
Better luck next time guys!

Hosting of the runners from France was partly funded by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation.
Brittany Ferries gave a really generous amount of help with the runners crossings between Caen and Portsmouth.
