I was twice able to see this wonderful newly refurbished, rethought, reworked and redesigned museum before its official reopening on Good Friday.
I went on Monday March 19th taking with me the First Deputy Mayor of Caen and her delegates.
Mme Catherine Pradal-Chazarenc, the First Deputy Mayor of Caen was most impressed with the new Museum and its concept.
In particular the fact that there is now much more emphasis on World War Two from the defeat at Dunkirk right through D-Day on to the Battle of Normandy right up to the end of World War Two.
The Overlord Embroidery has been carefully cleaned and placed into newer display cabinets with much better lighting and tougher but thinner glass. The embroidery although the same as it always was has been very much transformed in its new display cases.
If you have seen the Overlord Embroidery you were seeing the VHS cassette recording of it and now you are seeing the Bluray version.
