On Wednesday 6th December, John Jenkins, who is Portsmouth D-Day Museum's Official Ambassador took a trip to Mémorial in Caen. He was accompanying the curators of the soon to be re-opened museum in Portsmouth on an official visit to Normandy to present the museum to the citizens of Calvados and other interested parties gathered at the world famous museum in Caen.
I was in Germany at our German twin town of Duisburg that same day. Mme Brigitte Poirier from the 'Comité de Jumelage Caen-Portsmouth' was present and met John Jenkins again, whom she has met many times at the D-Day Museum before its closure for renovation.
An article has been published about his visit on About My Area - Portsmouth
The City Council published an article on their website here.
With kind permission of Brigitte here are some photos of John Jenkins' visit to Caen.
