The official website of the City of Caen has announced that there are three bands from Caen playing in the Victorious Festival, which is taking place this weekend here in Portsmouth on Southsea Common. We are very pleased to welcome bands from Caen to our city.
Personally, I will be there working to promote the City of Portsmouth in anyway I can through my membership of Portsmouth Ambassadors for much of the day on Sunday. Portsmouth Ambassadors will have a stand in the Kids area and in the VIP Zone. The University of Portsmouth and Portsmouth City Council Culture Dept are also around promoting our city.
Here is a link to the original article, which I will post a translation of below for the non-French speaking among us.
Three groups from Caen in Portsmouth
To mark the 30th anniversary celebrations of twinning between Caen and Portsmouth, the Caen music scene will be appearing at the Victorious Festival from the 25th to the 27th August.
The city of Caen in partnership with Le Cargö wanted to bring the Caen music scene to the fore during the Victorious Festival which takes place from Friday the 25th to Sunday 17th August.
The groups in association with Le Cargö will represent the city of Caen during the festival alongside some of the big names in music, such as; Madness, Stereophonics, Elbow, Franz Ferdinand...
This exchange will allow the Caen based artistes not just to meet with British cultural players, but to disseminate the Caen music scene to an international audience.
