This year Cllr. David Fuller, and his sister Leza Tremorin were inaugurated as Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Portsmouth.
Cllr. Ben Dowling and Roxana Andrusca were also inaugurated as Deputy Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Portsmouth.
As chair of twinning I was there with around 30 other guests representing the twinning association and of course dignitaries from the twin cities of Caen and Duisburg.

If you can get there, it is worth witnessing this tradition on a May Tuesday morning. Photos and little video clips do not do it justice... This is something we do well in Britain our traditional ceremonies.

During the afternoon I took the Duisburg and Caen delegates to the Spinnaker Tower and two of them up onto Portsdown Hill and around other sights of the city.

The evening celebratory meal took place in the Lord Mayor's Banqueting Suite, where I interpreted for the Caen representative at the table for the honoured guests from Caen and Duisburg.
