December 2020

Twixmas event between Christmas and New Year ... Watch this space...

Many of the things we do require small amounts of funding to help publicise them and do some hosting. The Great South Run here in Portsmouth in October and les Courants de la Liberté in Caen in June, The Westlake Brothers visit in March from Caen, the laying of a wreath on the D-Day memorial in Southsea each June 6th...

We can get some funding from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Foundation, this is mainly used to support the internship programme, to which Caen City Council makes a generous donation each paying (entirely covering the cost of the person we send there). we pay for the Caen intern here using funding from the HIWCF. The rest of the HIWCF funding pays towards hosting Westlake Brothers and the runners for the Great South Run here in Portsmouth and Les Courants de la Liberté in Caen or any other twinning event, which helps bring people together.

Brittany Ferries are often very generous in supporting what we do, with generous discounts on travel to and from Caen.
