At our Annual General Meeting on Tuesday May 9th, 2017. We held an election for a new chairperson following the retirement of Robin Sparshatt, who had been in post for over 8 years. We thank Robin for his dedication to twinning during this time and wish him all the best on his retirement.
Also stepping down from her post as Honorary Secretary was Mrs Terry Hall. Thankfully Terry is still a member of the committee. She is a highly valued member of our cause and we hope she will long continue to be so.
I (Andrew Starr) was elected Chair of the committee and I will strive to promote twinning in Portsmouth and hope to open up opportunities to many other interested people.
With this in mind, I am going to organise a social event after our next meeting, which takes place on Wednesday July 12th at 5pm. Our Social will begin from 7 pm at a venue in the Guildhall area of Portsmouth.
I will post details of the venue on the bog, on Facebook and Twitter, once we have it all organised, but if you want to be involved in twinning opportunities, then this is an ideal chance to start being involved in an informal way with the people on the committee.
